Displaying A Microsoft Office Doc

To show any type of Microsoft Office document (Excel, Word or Powerpoint) in a Bizplay page, you need to have the document available in an Office365 web environment. From here you first need to share the document and then use the Web Page app to embed it in your Bizplay page. There is unfortunately not one exact way to do this, so we have to different approaches that you could try. We use Powerpoint in this description, but this approach applies to other Office documents as well.

Approach 1: Embed Option

  1. In your Microsoft environment, open the document.
  2. Go to File > Share > Embed.
  3. Select one or two of the document specific options. In case of this Powerpoint presentation, select the desired dimensions and set the interaction to Use default autoadvance. Share Office365 En
  4. Select the web address between the quotes right after src= and copy that (it might be convenient to first copy the whole text from the little box to a text editor first).

Sometimes the copied address contains & instead of &. In that case you might need to replace all occurences of & with &.

Then in your Bizplay designer:

  1. Add a Web Page app to your page.
  2. Paste in the web address that you copied from the Office365 text box into the Web address field.
  3. Since a document is vertically centered inside the Web page app, you need to set the Web page height property of the Web Page app to something a lot smaller than the default value. Set it to 1000, for example, to make sure the presentation is visible within the app.

Approach 2: Guest Link Via Classic OneDrive

  1. In your Microsoft environment, go to OneDrive
  2. In the bottom left corner, select Return to classic OneDrive OneDrive Classic
  3. Find the document you want to share and click on the three dots next to it and select guest link OneDrive Classic Share
  4. Copy the link you get in the next popup window OneDrive Classic Guest Link

Then in your Bizplay designer:

  1. Add a Web Page app to your page.
  2. Paste in the web address that you copied from the Office365 text box into the Web address field.
  3. Add ?action=embedview to the end of the web address.
  4. Since a document is vertically centered inside the Web page app, you need to set the Web page height property of the Web Page app to something a lot smaller than the default value. Set it to 1000, for example, to make sure the presentation is visible within the app.
